Our vision is to become a charming small bookstore nestled in what is known as the “Gateway to the Springs,” A Booksmith hopes to offer a cozy retreat for avid readers, imaginative dreamers, and story enthusiasts of all ages capturing that Old-Florida charm in High Springs’ historic downtown. A Tale-worthy start
A BookSmith’s launch is driven by a deep passion for storytelling and a vision to create a cherished gathering place for the local community, a place where home educators can explore curriculum and be rejuvenated.
Hi, I’m Stacey Smith Fischer, with a BS in Psychology and a background as a Life Coach, I’m passionate about empowering others to achieve their dreams. As a homeschool mom of five, I’ve honed the art of balancing family and ambition. Alongside my husband, I co-founded a successful social media marketing startup, helping businesses thrive in the digital age. I also partnered with Mark Burnett, the iconic producer of The Apprentice, to launch an innovative e-commerce venture. Now, I’m excited to bring my latest project to life —join me in making it happen!
As a homeschooling mom having graduated two amazing daughters, with three more lifelong learners left to go. It was these three littles that motivated me to look at solving a problem many homeschool moms face every year: sourcing books. The frustration of spending hours online searching for books and other curriculum became so annoying that I finally decided I needed to be the solution. For years, I benefitted from my husband’s jobs, since he was employed by two major homeschool curriculum companies, making access to books incredibly easy. I look forward to working harder for this project’s success to fulfill a dream and create a legacy.
I chose High Springs, Florida for A BookSmith because it is nearby, draws tourists to their excellent scuba diving, beautiful springs and historic town. I also found the lack of any bookstore in this quaint little town to be baffling. High Springs is the perfect place to create an atmosphere where ideas come to life.
My dream for A BookSmith is to be a charming haven brimming with wonder, warmth, and carefully curated books that captivate readers of all ages. From tiny buildings too small for a bookstore to large warehouses, I have been searching for a place that would be a perfect fit for a shop to spark imagination. My vision for A BookSmith is to create not just a bookstore but a welcoming gathering place for book lovers and dreamers.

I want you to step into A BookSmith, and sense right away- this isn’t just a bookstore. With towering shelves in rich, soothing hues, a cozy kids’ nook that ignites creativity, and charming touches inspired by timeless tales, every detail is crafted to enchant. My goal is to make A Booksmith a haven where you can hunt for the perfect book, discover your next favorite story, or simply bask in the joy of reading, feeling welcomed and inspired.
